Welcome…

Come join me as I search for things that others have discarded and give them new life! I’m  married to my best friend (Honey) for over 30 years. We have one grown son, who is the apple of our eyes. Honey and I enjoy all types of DIY projects, working in our garden, spending time with family and friends and playing with our dachshunds together! We truly love creating our dragonflies, butterflies and all types of metal arts, that is our passion! I’m also a photography enthusiast and will share some of my work with you from time to time! Thanks for stopping by:)

Hi. I have some old 5 panel doors that I would like to make into shelves. I LOVE your shelves. I wondered if you could tell me the best way to remove the panels from the door? I’d really appreciate any input you have. thanks, cindy

Hi Cindy,
Our door was old and for the lack of a a better word, wobbly! We took a hammer and tapped on the long board on the left to disassemble the door and the panels slid right out! Our door was held together with dowels and little if any glue after being in the weather for so long. When you go to put back, apply a little bit of glue and clamp the door back together. Not knowing exactly what you have, you might go on the back side and use a chisel and just below the panel, notch out enough to get the panel out. That could be a ledge for you to sit your shelf on! Just holler back if you need anything else:)
